Aga ElectricKit Classic Conversion

Upgrade your traditional Aga with modern electric control - cleaner, cheaper to run and no compromise on classic style.

What Is an ElectricKit Classic Aga Conversion?

The ElectricKit Classic Aga conversion transforms your existing fuel-burning cooker into a fully electric appliance. By installing discreet heating elements beneath the ovens and hotplates, this retrofit kit allows you to control each zone independently, so you only use what you need when you need it.

Designed to suit most 2, 3, and 4-oven models, the Aga ElectricKit Classic fits directly in your kitchen without moving the cooker, preserving its original look and charm while drastically improving efficiency.

How It Works

Once fitted, the ElectricKit Classic connects each oven and hotplate to its own thermostat, giving you precise control at the turn of a dial. Unlike fuel-based Agas, there’s no constant heat loss - each zone only draws power when needed. It's an invisible upgrade that completely changes how your Aga performs, without changing how it looks.

Why Choose ElectricKit Classic?

Switching to an ElectricKit Classic conversion means keeping the Aga you love, but making it cleaner, cheaper, and far easier to live with. From lower energy bills to no more servicing, this electric upgrade delivers practical benefits without compromising on tradition.

  • Lower Running Costs – Save up to 80% on energy compared to oil/gas
  • Use Only What You Need – No more always-on heat loss
  • Fast Heat-Up – Hotplates ready in ~20 mins, ovens in ~60 mins
  • No Fuel or Flue Needed – Fully electric, cleaner, and greener
  • No Servicing Required – Maintenance-free convenience
  • Keeps the Aga Look – Same cooker, upgraded performance

If you’re looking to future-proof your cooker without losing the soul of the original Aga, the ElectricKit Classic Aga conversion is the smart choice.

Want that classic Aga feel, but with simpler electrics?

The ElectriKit Classic Aga is your ‘less techy’ answer – way better than the 13amp, without the fuss.

ElectricKit Classic vs Advanced

The ElectricKit Classic Aga conversion is perfect for Yorkshire homeowners who prefer reliable, manual operation with physical dials and a no-fuss experience. It’s a great option for homeowners who enjoy the traditional feel of an Aga but want improved efficiency and control.

Looking for something more advanced? The Electrickit Advanced Aga Conversion adds remote control via smartphone, touchscreen programming, Wi-Fi scheduling, and smart energy-saving features. It’s ideal for tech-savvy households or anyone wanting to control their cooker from anywhere, at any time.

Both systems retain an iconic look and cast-iron quality of a traditional Aga but give you the choice of how hands-on or automated you want your kitchen to be.

Very friendly, very helpful, and lots of advice. The whole process from visiting the showroom, to the installation of our Electrikit Advanced 2-oven Aga in Northern Counties Cream (our choice - though with so many enamel colours to choose from, well.....!}, went extremely smoothly - and ended with a quick run through of operation, and time for questions and answers. After decades of using all the different types of Aga, and Rayburn, this new one is a whole different kettle of fish and takes a bit of getting used to. But it is definitely the Aga for today, offering lots of flexibility, yet still the delights of cooking in a proper cast-iron oven. To save fuel, one doesn't have to switch the whole caboodle off for the summer, as one might have done in the past - or, if you go away on holiday, it is no different from switching off your immersion heater. To increase flexibility of use, one can programme the Aga, just as you might your house central-heating/water heating - plus you can put all this on an App on your 'pnone, so you can switch the Aga on and off etc., remotely. However, with just having moved house and, so far, every day being a whirlwind of seemingly essential jobs, we haven't had time to try out all this modern tech.. But, we will!Thank you, all at John Wray!

Exceptional - a brilliant company to do business with and surely the best AGA company in the north of England (if not nationally). I cannot recommend Stuart and his team enough - from the moment we contacted John Wray Country Stoves, we felt valued as customers and nothing was too much trouble. All of our questions were answered very knowledgeably and the installation process was 100% stress-free (including the removal of our old AGA). Stuart even made a minor repair to my woodburner, even though he and his colleage (another lovely guy) had worked all day to install the AGA and had a long drive back to North Yorkshire .All in all, the best people we've worked with during our house renovations and highly recommended.

A really super job from John Wray Country Stoves and AEM Range Cooker Services converting our gas Aga to the Electrickit Advanced. It was fascinating to see. Very excited to get to grips with it. I am enjoying the induction hob and I can now turn the oven on from the train home, using the App.The team at John Wray were so friendly, helpful and straightforward to deal with from first contact through to installation. They and Alex from AEM were a pleasure to have around on the day of the work. I can highly and whole heartedly recommend them.

Thank you to Stuart, Ben and Louise for a great experience installing my much loved stove. I waited a year for this beauty to be installed when I moved house, and then was let down. But Stuart pulled out all the stops and came to my rescue. Louise was on hand to help and support and Ben cleaned up all the mess and made the whole experience effortless. I'm keen to save up for an aga so any advice or support will be appreciated. A great team and an impeccable service.

Aga ElectricKit Classic Conversions FAQs

Is the ElectricKit Classic system maintenance-free?

Yes, the ElectricKit Classic requires minimal maintenance. Unlike traditional fuel-based Agas, there are no flues or burners to service, reducing ongoing maintenance needs.

Can I upgrade the hotplates during the conversion?

Yes, the left-hand hotplate can be upgraded to an induction hob, providing instant heat and improved energy efficiency. This upgrade offers additional flexibility and faster cooking times.

What power supply is required for the ElectricKit Classic?

Installation typically requires two 13-amp fused spur switches. However, specific electrical requirements may vary based on your Aga model and should be discussed with your installer.

Is a flue or external venting necessary after conversion?

No, the ElectricKit Classic is designed to be room-venting, eliminating the need for an external flue system. A small vented shroud replaces the traditional flue, allowing hot air from the ovens to vent into the room.
