As the curtains fell on the 165th Great Yorkshire Show, held from July 9th to 12th, we couldn’t help but bask in the glow of the event which was a vibrant celebration of Yorkshire’s farming heritage and rural lifestyle. This year’s event drew curious minds who were eager to experience everything from agricultural exhibits to culinary delights. John Wray Country Stoves was proud to be part of this iconic gathering, showcasing our commitment to quality with our reconditioned Agas. Our competition definitely stole the show where visitors snapped selfies with our team and the iconic red Aga, shared their experiences on social media, and eagerly awaited the draw for a premium Heston pan set. The energy and enthusiasm throughout the show were truly remarkable!

On July 12th, we held a live draw to announce the winner of the Heston pan set. To ensure transparency, we recorded the draw and posted it online. A young guest drew the winning number from our ballot box, guaranteeing a fair selection process. A huge congratulations to our lucky winner ,[Winner’s Name], who took home the coveted Heston pan set!
The Great Yorkshire Show, held every July, is a spectacular celebration of Yorkshire’s rich agricultural heritage. The event consistently garners high praise from visitors for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse exhibits, with many calling it “a fantastic day out for the whole family” and “an event that gets better every year.” This beloved event highlights the best of Yorkshire in every aspect, from farming and food to rural life and entertainment.
This year’s show featured exciting new attractions, including the Paul Hannam Quad Bike Stunt Show, a Craft Beer Bar with award-winning Yorkshire beers, and performances by the international classical singers, the Forever Tenors. The event also hosted the World Ayrshire Federation Annual Conference and the thrilling Battle of the Butchers. Visitors marvelled at innovative machinery like the methane-powered tractor from Russells farm machinery and the Grimme four-row self-propelled potato harvester, as well as a photography exhibition by British Life Photographer of the Year, Amy Bateman.
The GYS Stage featured appearances by beloved personalities such as Helen Skelton, Adam Henson, Peter Wright, and Rob & Dave Nicholson of Cannon Hall Farm. Helen Skelton, who appeared on Channel 5’s Dan & Helen’s Pennine Adventure, shared her excitement, saying, “I have always been a fan of the Great Yorkshire Show and have loved visiting with friends and family over the years. I am very much looking forward to being there this year and sharing some stories with audiences across the day
Other highlights included the Great Yorkshire Inn, Countryside Voices Marquee, and the Farm to Fashion Show. Daily Pie & Policy and Tea & Tech talks at the Innovation Zone provided insightful discussions for all attendees.
